Make it stand out

Neroli

Production Method

Neroli oil is produced through steam distillation of bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium) blossoms. Harvested by hand at their fragrant peak, the blossoms are placed in a still, where steam is passed through them, releasing essential oil without damaging its delicate aroma. After condensation, the mixture separates into two layers: the upper layer, neroli essential oil, and the lower layer, floral water or hydrosol. The oil is then filtered and stored in dark glass containers. This method is used in regions with suitable climates for growing bitter orange trees, such as Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Italy, and is known for its high cost due to the large amount of blossoms needed.
